Join Joanne Burns at Bakery Live!

Bakery Live is proud to announce an insightful session at this year’s event, featuring Joanne Burns, Reformulation for Health Manager at Food and Drink Federation Scotland. Titled “Futureproofing with Health-Driven Reformulation,” this session will take place on 17 September 2024 and will address the critical role of product reformulation in meeting growing consumer and retailer demands for healthier bakery products.

Joanne Burns, a seasoned expert with over 20 years of experience in the food and health industry, will lead this session. Since 2019, Joanne has spearheaded the Reformulation for Health programme, making it a leading voice in the Scottish food and drink sector. The programme, funded by the Scottish Government and hosted by the Food and Drink Federation Scotland, provides free support and guidance to SME food and drink businesses, focusing on enhancing the nutritional quality of widely consumed products.

In her session, Joanne will explore the key principles and processes involved in reformulating bakery recipes to improve health outcomes. She will discuss specific nutritional challenges faced by the bakery industry and offer practical solutions to help businesses not only meet but exceed the health expectations of consumers and retailers. This session is a must-attend for bakery professionals looking to stay ahead of market trends and ensure the long-term success of their products.

“I am thrilled to have Joanne Burns share her expertise at Bakery Live,” said Joseph Clarke, Editor of International Bakery Magazine. “As the demand for healthier food options continues to rise, Joanne’s insights on reformulation are invaluable for businesses looking to futureproof their products while contributing to public health.”
